Overview
BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide based on a partial sequence of a protein isolated from human gastric juice. It is notably stable in aqueous conditions compared with many peptides of similar size.
Research context
BPC-157 has been investigated widely in preclinical models of tissue repair, angiogenesis and gastrointestinal integrity, with published work in tendon, ligament, muscle and gut models. It remains a common reference compound in cell migration and growth factor signalling studies.
