Overview
Epithalon, also written Epitalon, is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly. It was designed as a synthetic counterpart to epithalamin, a polypeptide extract of the pineal gland.
Research context
Epithalon has been studied in cell and animal models of cellular ageing, particularly for its reported effects on telomerase activity and telomere length, and in research on pineal function and circadian regulation.
